What we believe
Below you can find some of the important beliefs that we have gleaned from scripture. This is intended to help you understand where we are coming from.
No statement of faith is superior to the Bible as truth. We do not claim these statements to be the authority for truth which is reserved only for God's word.
If you find these statements uniquely offensive in any way to what you believe, please send us your response for consideration or check out our questions page.
The Bible
It has God’s guarantee of authenticity on every page. It is truth, accurate, and without mistake. We use the Authorized Version as our copy of God’s word.
God
There is one God, and we will all be held accountable to him. God is three in one: God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost.
Jesus
Jesus is God, was God, and will always be God. He is God in human form. Born of a virgin, he was the only man that lived without sin. He came to earth about 2000 years ago to usher in the promised kingdom to Israel. He was rejected and killed on a cross, but came back to life three days later. He resides in heaven even today.
Creation
God created the world nearly six thousand years ago in six days.
The Devil
He is real and was created as a cherub in heaven. His rebellion to God made him the author of sin. He deceived the first man who brought death into the world by listening to his lies. He is still lying to men today by pretending to be God’s minister and teaching wrong doctrine.
Hell
Hell is a real place where everyone tainted with sin will go for eternal destruction.
Sin
Since sin entered through the first man Adam, every person takes part in his nature of sin, with the exception of the virgin-born Jesus. All sinful people and things will be destroyed by God.
Salvation
Salvation is what God offers to rescue man from their own eternal condemnation. It is always based upon the grace of God and received by faith. No good or bad work can keep us in heaven or out of hell.
We receive salvation by faith that Jesus died on the cross to pay our sin penalty – death. When he came back to life he proved that the payment for death was complete and paid in full. We now receive the benefits of what Jesus did by believing that God will freely count us righteous based on the cross work of Christ.
Jesus’ Return
When he comes again it will be in the air to take away his church to heaven – the Body of Christ. After that he will return to touch down upon the earth to fulfill the prophecies about setting up an everlasting kingdom on earth with Israel.
Bible Study
We study the entire Bible as it is our only source of truth in this age. We make no exceptions or additions to it as God’s word. We also study other authors, scholars, theologians, but no man today is moved to write inspired text as were the original writers.
Pauline
When we approach the Bible we are careful to recognize the distinct information given to Paul. He was given a special position as our apostle. Jesus uniquely revealed to Paul information not known before, and so it is called the revelation of the mystery.
Dispensational
Although we have the entire Bible today, it was not always like that. God revealed his word progressively over time. Throughout history he has operated with man according to distinct bodies of information. We call these separate instructions by which God deals with man ‘dispensations’.
Right Division
Although God has one purpose for the ages, he has a two-fold plan. In order to discern the instructions for us today from the Biblical instructions given to other people we need to rightly divide or discern one from the other.
God’s Intervention
God intervenes in the world today through His church and His word.
Supernatural powers and signs
The supernatural powers of healing, speaking in other languages, snake-handling, and raising the dead were given in the book of Acts to assist the saints in Jerusalem to live through the tribulation. These powers are unneeded in our dispensation today, where the tribulation has been postponed.
Baptism
Water baptism was taught by John, Jesus, and Peter for the remission of sins to fulfill the law. Today we do not need to perform water baptism as we are baptized at salvation by the Holy Spirit into Christ.
Tithing-Giving
Tithing had a legal requirement under the covenants. However, we are not under any covenants today, and so giving is free as every man desires.
Family
God invented the family as a reflection of our relationship to him. Every person in the family has a God-given responsibility to uphold.
Church
The church is every saved person individually and collectively.
Government
As ambassadors, we are subject first to God over any earthly government. We should submit to authorities on earth, as we are placed under them during our time here. We do not promote anarchy or illegal tax evasion.
